Home language education

by Joseph Kasperski (2018-01-13)

When it comes to children’s home learning they need guidance and supervision to keep them motivated and disciplined. However, in many situations home learning or distance education is the only way of gaining access to certain type of knowledge. Take foreign language learning as an example. Children can learn a foreign language naturally just by watching cartoons, playing games or listening to popular children’s songs even if they live in a completely different language environment and there is no language school for children or bilingual kindergarten in the neighbourhood. We just need to show them how to gain access to these free, entertaining resources on the Internet and encourage them when learning new words or songs. Paying for an online teacher can be the next step if children show interest in learning a foreign language.
